Wāhine in Data Ōtautahi Panel, February 2026

This post is brought to you by a recent panel on which I spoke, here in beautiful Ōtautahi Christchurch as part of the Wāhine in Data Ōtautahi group some of us have started. The panel’s origin? These are admittedly subjects on which I opine a great deal, and in which we know people are interested; we pulled this together in the wake of Manage My Health data breach, then quickly followed by the MediMap breach (in which, for example, patients were marked as deceased or their names changed).
What I’ll relay here are my answers to the questions we prepped beforehand — many of which the audience asked without needing our MC to do so. It was a fantastic, free-flowing kōrero marked by high respect and curiousity, and an absence of hype — exactly the sort of thing we’re actively building 🙂
